CSCC Future Classics Championship (2010)

The Future Classics Series ran a full programme of events in 2008 after a trial year in 2007. It has already proven to be a popular series, catering for Sports, Saloons and GT cars from the 1970s and 1980s with some 1990s cars with Committee approval.

Following the standard CSCC series format the races are run over forty minutes and include a mandatory pit-stop, so that two drivers may share a car and costs.

The class structure is based on engine capacity to encourage competitive racing through the field and give everyone something to race for. Cars are battling all down the field and provide great entertainment – spectators can watch their favourite “retros” being driven in spectacular fashion!

All outright race-winning cars will have a 30-Second timed pit-lane penalty during the driver change window when it next enters a race. These penalties to remain throughout the season.

BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship (2006)

Formula Jedi was originally created in 1996 as 'Formula 600'. The name was taken from the Honda 600cc motorcycle engine that was fitted to the rear of the Jedi racing car, constructed by John Corbyn at his Northamptonshire workshops. The idea for a race championship was developed because the Jedi chassis was being used very successfully on sprint and hillclimb circuits throughout the UK.

Formula 600 was therefore created and backed by the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) to produce identical performance single seater racing cars, that would provide a cost effective way to go motor racing. It would also teach the young and old about using slicks and wings. In 2000, Honda UK gave their support to the formula and the series became 'Formula Honda', but with the demand for bigger engines and more power, a second class was created for any bike engine up to 1000cc - Formula Jedi was born.

The 600cc class continued to enjoy success as the feeder series into the championship, but as more drivers moved to the larger engines to challenge for race wins, the class was replaced in 2008 by a 'Club' class for older 1000cc engines.
